A portion of overall sales will go to protect outdoor spaces; Chips 3.0 to be released in two commemorative colors.

IRVINE, CA — August 29, 2022 —Outdoor Tech has joined The Conservation Alliance, an organization that has contributed more than $20 million dollars to conservation groups in North America.

Founded in 2009, Outdoor Tech’s goal has been to address the challenge of blending a modern lifestyle in the age of mobile technology with the drive to be outdoors. As the creator of the industry-leading and first-ever universal, fully wireless audio Chips for ski and snowboard helmets, Outdoor Tech proved that people can stay connected—but not tethered—to modern technology during active lifestyle pursuits.

Director of Membership and Partnerships at The Conservation Alliance, Conor McElyea said, “We’re excited to welcome Outdoor Tech as the newest member of The Conservation Alliance, joining the growing coalition of businesses that are leveraging their resources to fund and advocate for land and water conservation throughout North America.”

Katy Petroff, Outdoor Tech General Manager, added, “Our whole business is based on the outdoors, so we’re in a unique position to protect the places we play. We joined the Conservation Alliance because we’re serious about doing our part as an organization—and being a model for others. We’re also excited about sharing this news with customers and releasing our new Chips 3.0 in two commemorative colors: blue for the waters, and green for the forest.”

On Earth Day 2022, Outdoor Tech also announced a commitment to sustainable, plastic-free packaging by the end of 2023. Petroff noted, “Rolling out sustainable packaging across all of our products is one of the best, most immediate investments we can make in our planet today.”
